A group of BMES students traveled to Philadelphia for fall break, October 16ht to 19th, to present research and help work the University of Tennessee booth at the Annual BMES Meeting. This year, we had the largest number of students present research. Alicia Matavosian, Samantha Bratcher, Jack Deinhart, Gavin Warrington, Patrick Hall, and Anna Clare Herline all participated in poster sessions. Nicole Kowalski gave an oral presentation during a platform session on prostheses and exoskeletons. Congratulations to all these members for their amazing achievements!
Fresenius Medical care tour
On Friday, September 27th, twenty BMES members travelled to a Fresenius Medical Care Manufacturing Plant in south Knoxville for a tour of the facility! Students observed how Fresenius kidney dialysis products are developed and manufactured. The tour was two full hours of learning about the engineering process in the real world and how a manufacturing facility works. A huge thanks to Fresenius Medical Care for hosting BMES at their plant!
